Why I will never again worry about computer viruses

I will never again worry about computer viruses because a year ago I replaced my old computer operating system for a new one that has a different architecture, many say better, that is not susceptible to computer viruses in the same way as the old one.

What made the change in operating system even better was that the new one was free and will be regularly updated in the future free!

So how can something that is distributed worldwide free possibly be better than something that is distributed worldwide and is very expensive?

The answer lies in the magic of 'open source software'. Countless programmers have contributed to this software to improve it as a community effort and their improvements then become the starting point for other programmers to improve it yet again. A single corporation could never afford to pay for such volumes of expertise, however rich and powerful.

I like this operating system because it is an operating system that is based on goodwill.

It is extremely secure and not susceptible to computer viruses in the same way as the one that is distributed with almost every desktop computer.

It is also very powerful, fast and easy to use.

Ubuntu is the name of this magical system - technically, it is a Linux distribution.

It comes with masses of free 'open source software' too.

I will never worry about computer viruses again now I have this computer operating system and for me that means I will have escaped computer viruses for a better life.
